March 11, 2025
SAN MATEO, CA (March 11, 2025) — Inc. has recognized Dr. Jennifer Schneider, co-founder and chief executive officer of Homeward®, as one of the top female entrepreneurs in the country, naming her to its prestigious 2025 Female Founders 500 list. This honor celebrates a select group of women driving meaningful change in their industries, breaking barriers, and redefining the future of business.
Dr. Schneider’s selection reflects her leadership and vision in transforming healthcare access for millions of Americans in rural communities. Since founding Homeward in 2022, she has spearheaded the company’s rapid growth, introducing an innovative care delivery model that is tailored to rural populations. Under her leadership, Homeward has raised more than $70 million in funding and secured partnerships to serve more than 100,000 Medicare beneficiaries across Michigan and her home state of Minnesota, where she experienced firsthand living in a small, rural town with limited access to care.
Dr. Schneider has an extensive track record of scaling companies and pioneering transformative healthcare solutions. As President and Chief Medical Officer of Livongo, she led the company’s groundbreaking $18.5 billion merger with Teladoc Health, the largest digital health transaction in history. She also played a pivotal role in Castlight Health’s early growth and IPO, marking one of the first major digital health public offerings of the decade.
“Women entrepreneurs have a unique ability to turn challenges into opportunities for meaningful change, and I’m incredibly honored to be recognized among this year’s Inc. Female Founders,” said Dr. Jennifer Schneider, CEO and co-founder of Homeward. “As a physician and healthcare entrepreneur, I’ve dedicated my career to optimizing healthcare to close disparity gaps and expand access. The impact we as founders make today will open doors for the next generation of women leaders and entrepreneurs, and I remain deeply committed to mentorship and sponsorship—ensuring that more women founders have the support, resources, and capital to build companies that drive lasting change.”
Beyond her executive leadership, Dr. Schneider has been a strong advocate for female entrepreneurs, creating pathways for more women to lead and innovate in healthcare. She founded Home[ward] Grown, a mentorship program supporting female founders in the healthcare sector, elevating female founders who have since secured funding, built partnerships, and gained national media recognition.
"Female founders know what struggle is, but they’re also experts of improvisation, adaptability, and creativity. The women featured on this year’s list exemplify these qualities. Through times of uncertainty, their unwavering dedication and steadfast leadership are not only inspiring but vital to driving progress," said Inc. executive editor Diana Ransom.
Dr. Schneider’s leadership extends beyond Homeward through her board appointments at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, Maven Clinic, and Jasper Health, where she continues to shape the future of healthcare. Her achievements have earned her recognition as one of Modern Healthcare’s ‘100 Most Influential People in Healthcare’ and Fierce Healthcare’s ‘Women of Influence’, further cementing her status as a leader driving real impact.
